The exhibit idea was proposed by Dr. Addie Martindale at Georgia Southern University. "Let's Get Dressed" wants to introduce the concept that we all start our days the same way, regardless of one's gender, culture, etc. It is to challenge and change opinions on social stigmas relating to a person's publicly shown appearance. The following are items I assisted in creating with my team for the proposition using the aesthetic of comic books or graphic novels after a comment by Dr. Martindale regarding the medium.
I assisted in making a catalogue for the exhibit. Taking the information and images given, the catalog was created in the style of a comic book which would hold the profiles of each subject in the exhibit.
I assisted in making mockups of the exhibit space, showing how the images and other items would be placed.
There was a request for displaying a timeline of sorts, and examples of those were given. I had proposed to my team that a video with motion graphics would be best. It would allow the exhibit to save on space if we had a screen that played the timeline. There would be the addition of interactivity with on-screen prompts to "touch for more information".
